  33.     DemoNews is a weekly publication dedicated to the demo scene.  It is
  34. produced at the Internet FTP site ftp.eng.ufl.edu (aka WASP or HORNET).  
  35. This newsletter focuses on all aspects of demos and demo-making  (including 
  36. music, art, and coding).

  65. We are still low on space...in case you were wondering this effects
  66. only ftp.eng.ufl.edu where uploads are found.  In fact, in my root
  67. account I have only 100k of space...and that is the same drive about
  68. 60 other people use :).  It is kind of weird we have these problems
  69. as UF has TONS of money...and with the football team doing REAL well
  70. they are bringing in $$$ every week.  Who knows where all the money 
  71. goes...I don't and never did.  The University is like big government--
  72. it takes forever to get what you need.  Why try to understand.  I 
  73. just hope they don't want to kill us (390megs) to free up some space
  74. when hundred dollar bills are growing on trees outside.

  165. Not much new this week.  Lots of .s3m uploads.

  167. You may see a nice review of Mod-4-Windows in here in the next couple of
  168. weeks.  The author has offered me a pre-release version, and I look forward
  169. to using it.

  171. We ran out of space AGAIN this week!  As a result, we are going to have to
  172. shift this site from being a storehouse of ALL demos/music to a place where
  173. the most current ones can be found.  Your music disks and songs will probably
  174. be gone about 2 weeks after you upload them.

  180. Music Contest ][ is completely and totally over.  I sent out all but one of
  181. the prizes to the winners this past Tuesday, and the final prize today
  182. (Saturday).  Closing letters have been sent to all coordinators, sysops,
  183. judges, and people interested in the contest.
  184.  
  185. All MC][ entries can be found under /music/MC2/entries.  This directory is
  186. completely ready for transfer onto the Escape CD.
  187.  
  188. As per multiple requests, I have copied mc2final.zip to the /music/MC2
  189. directory.  This way, our mirror sites can pick it up.

  195. Hello everybody!  This is the first week for Code articles.  I have taken
  196. yet another responsibility; organizing the source on this site.
  197.  
  198. To start, I have made the /code directory.  All new files will be put in
  199. there.  Also, the /code directory will be divided up into /graph (graphics
  200. files), /music (music source code), /hardware (mouse, keyboard routines),
  201. etc.  This will be much better (IMO) than having everything just thrown
  202. together like it is now.
  203.  
  204. Also, the files from /programming will slowly be moved to the /code
  205. directory.  By the time they get there, they will ALL have .txt descriptions
  206. telling what they are.  This should help.
  207.

  221. The audio portion of the Escape CD was recorded this past Friday.  Everything
  222. seemed to go ok.  The tape was sent to Dan Wright on Saturday morning, and
  223. should arrive early next week.
  224.

  227. The DATA and ART portion of the CD are moving at a snails pace--sad to 
  228. say.  Printing four color is a whole new ball game to me--this along
  229. with our lack of submissions is causing our bottle neck.  I have all or
  230. most of the DATA on my hard drive ready to be organized and documented.
  231. I will release a "filelist.txt" to the /democd directory this week so
  232. you know what will be on the DEMO/MUSIC CD.  It looks like around
  233. 210 megs of demos, MC][ stuff, and another 5-10 megs of misc stuff for
  234. a total of around 230 megs.  The music portion of the CD is expected to
  235. take up 47-48 minutes.  We will probabably end up using 90-100% of the
  236. CD's allocated space.

  238. I am shooting for a MID October release but a more realistic date would
  239. be late October because printing takes 2 weeks when we DELIVER it and we
  240. have not even done the SCREENS.

  372. Hi, I would like to receive some information from one of you guys out there.
  373. The information I want is about the Party 4 which probably will be held in 
  374. Aars/Denmark in December '94.
  375. I need this information because we at Trance (A demo group, PC,Amiga,SNES) are
  376. planning a bustrip to this party and want to settle everything down as soon as
  377. possible.
  378. I hope some of you can give me the needed information such as:
  379. Organisers and their addresses (E-Mail or Mail), the Party Place, Date,
  380. costs etc. etc. !
